Our Council realizes that in order to grow we must be progressive. We share grants with the R.M. of Monet for our Uniplex, Fire District, library, recycling bins, cemetery, web page, Handi- Van and Memorial Hall. We give an annual grant to the Regional Park (behind the Uniplex) and Clearwater Lake Regional Park. Together with the 2005 History Book Committee, we had a sign for the cemetery made. Along with Reed's Greenhouse, we offer the businesses a 'Beautify your Business' opportunity with live plants, every spring.
We have seen a rapid growth in lot sales . Currently we are looking into putting water and sewer into un-serviced lots. We are in the process of putting in new water meters to every residence. This will eliminate entry to homes and give a more accurate reading on a hand held computerized meter reader. Every year we budget for four new curb stops. In 2008 we put in a new sidewalk on the east side of Main Street from the Royal Bank to Reed's Greenhouse. We have an annual budget for street and sidewalk repairs.
We purchased a new tractor for the Town men.
We have representation on many adjoining Municipality projects. Currently we have joined with the Town of Rosetown, R.M. of St Andrews, R.M. of Monet, Town of Kyle, and the R.M. of Lacadena to finalize a water pipeline to service these areas. We will then have access to high quality drinking water. Chair is Lyle Leys, Vice Chair is George Myers and Sec. Treasurer is Lori McDonald. Mayor June Hintze and Betty Knorr have joined with Rosetown on a Fort McMurray Airport committee, Dr. Recruitment committee and the Hospital Building Fund committee.
Our Elrose Health Centre is a long term care facility for thirty residents and has three beds for respite/palliative or convalescent clients.
We also have the Rosetown Medical Clinic physicians come every Mon-Friday for out-patient appointments at the Health Centre.
We have two churches holding weekly services, the United and Catholic, and the Rosetown Alliance Church's Elrose Rep is Pastor Blaine Sands.
